UNESCO celebrates 60 years of water sciences and 50 years of ”Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme“ (IHP)!
To mark this occasion, a grand ceremony will be held today at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, to which the national IHP secretariats will also contribute. The UNESCO Chair in Engineering Hydrology at RWTH Aachen University is supporting the German IHP/HWRP Secretariat, based at the ICWRGC in Koblenz, in organising a German side event the day after tomorrow on the 13 June 2025.
To this end, we have created a journey through the history of German contributions to the six decades at Anywhere Academy. In a replica of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, interested visitors can experience the media contributions in a VR scenario. They can either wander leisurely from floor to floor and let the media sink in, or use a teleport station for a quick run-through.

The virtual museum will remain accessible after the side event and can be visited by interested parties at any time.
